Gr1 Duo Entered For Fasig-Tipton November
Two of last weekend's Gr1 winners will head for the Fasig-Tipton November Sale with neither horse's owners wanting to have an interest in breeding from them. 3YO filly In Lingerie (Empire Maker-Cat Chat, by Storm Cat) won the Gr1 Spinster Stakes over 1800m and owners Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners representative Aron Wellman told drf.com. "Right now, our focus is on getting her out to California and preparing her for the Breeders' Cup. Our company is still in its infancy, and while at some point in time we'd like to be able to expand our core business and develop some level of a broodmare band, right now we're not in the breeding business. It's important for us to be able to campaign top-class fillies like this and be able to take them to market so that our partners can maximize revenue and put some money back in their pockets so that we can go back and try to find another one." Similarly, the winner of the Gr1 First Lady Stakes over a mile 5YO mare Tapitsfly (Tapit-Flying Marlin, by Marlin) will be offered at the same sale with her owner/breeder Frank Jones Jr saying: "I'm not set up to be having breeding stock worth that much money. I'm not a big-time breeder, and she's a big-time horse. I'm 99 percent sure I'm going to sell her."
