Tattersalls October Book-1 Sale: 700,000 Guineas Montjeu Colt
On Day-1 of the 3-day Tattersalls October Book-1 Yearling Sale, Coolmore's John Magnier won out in a 3-way bidding duel with Californian owner John Kelly & agent Charlie Gordon-Watson when paying 700,000 guineas for Lot 88. By deceased leading sire Montjeu (Sadler's Wells-Floripedes, by Top Ville), the colt is out of Lucina, a half-sister to Group winner and Gr1-placed Blue Monday from the family of Gr1 winners Luso & Warrsan.
