New ABC National Racing Program
Coinciding with the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival, ABC NewsRadio's new horse program Hoof on the Till will make its live radio debut this weekend. The program, hosted by Max Presnell, doyen of the racing journalist fraternity and Helen Thomas, biographer of two of Australia's great thoroughbreds, will be live each Sunday at 10am (AEDT). For a month of Sundays (14, 21, 28 October and 4 November) Hoof on the Till will tap into leading jockeys and trainers, bookmakers and breeders to discuss some of Australia's major races - including the Caulfield Guineas, Caulfield Cup, W.S Cox Plate, McKinnon Stakes, Victoria Derby and of course, the 2012 Melbourne Cup. Presnell and Thomas will also profile the Spring's leading horses. Up until now a popular podcast, the new live format will also include regular experts Gary Crispe, head of Timeform Australia, and Deane Lester, widely revered for his tipping skills.
