Tattersalls Oct Book-1 Sale Day-2: Increases On All Indices
On Day-2 of the 3-day Tattersalls October Book-1 Yearling Sale, any doubt that Day-1's improved figures would hold up were utterly swept aside. With 2011's figures in parenthesis Day-2 witnessed 140 (123) lots sold for a record 25,022,000 (15,797,000) guineas, at an average of 178,729 (128,431) guineas and a median of 112,500 (100,000) guineas which represented rises of 58%, 39% and 13% respectively when compared with the second session last year. It was an extraordinary session for former shuttler and champion sire Galileo whose progeny included the top 5 lots – 4 of them fillies – on the day.
