Europe's Raiders Gather In Canada

With 3 Gr1 turf prizes up for grabs in Canada this weekend, a posse of international raiders has arrived to take on the locals. Sunday's races are conducted under stringent stakes-race surveillance (including security spot-checks) which includes all runners having to be in their stables by 11am today where blood tests will be taken. Among the French, Irish & Spanish horses from Europe (and the races they're competing in) are:

  • C$1.5 million Canadian International (12 furlongs): Reliable Man, Joshua Tree & Imperial Monarch.
  • C$1 million E.P. Taylor Stakes (10 furlongs): Havant, Siyouma, Pagera, Princess Highway & Trois Lunes.
  • C$500,000 Nearctic (6 furlongs): As de Trebol & Fire Lily.
