Gentildonna Wins Japan Gr1 Shuka Sho

At Kyoto in Japan, the filly Gentildonna (Deep Impact-Donna Blini, by Bertolini) scored by a nose for trainer S Ishizaka in the ¥184,920,000 Gr1 Shuka Sho (2000m) for 3YO fillies, over Verxina (Deep Impact-Halwa Sweet, by Machiavellian) & Aromatico (King Kamehameha-Nasca, by Sunday Silence). Gentildonna took her record to 6 wins (including the Gr2 Sho Rose Stakes at Hanshin, Gr1 Yushun Himba at Tokyo, Gr1 Oka Sho at Hanshin & Gr3 Sho Shinzan Kinen at Kyoto) from 8 starts. Gentildonna has become the first filly since Apapane in 2010 & fourth in history to duplicate the feat of capturing the filly's Triple Crown in Japan.
