Tuesday, 16th October 2012

Meanwhile, embattled jockey Damien Oliver, who has had his back turned on by many in the industry while under investigation for allegedly placing a $10,000 bet on a rival horse, has kept the ride aboard favoured Commanding Jewel for tomorrow's Gr1 Thousand Guineas at Caulfield. According to dailytelegraph.com.au, Commanding Jewel's trainer Leon Corstens stated, "I have no issue whatsoever with Damien... This is just a hiccup and it is still all innuendo." Oliver has 4 rides at tomorrow's Melbourne Racing Club meeting, including mounts from other trainers John McArdle, Tony Vasil & Robbie Griffiths.
