Tattersalls October Book-2: Pace Picks Up

Following a reasonable opening day of Tattersalls October Book-2 (where the average was off 8.5% but the median only marginally down from 31,000 guineas to 30,000 guineas over 2011), the 2nd session picked up markedly overnight with 3 individual lots going for 200,000 guineas or above. The pass-in rate was a healthy 13%. Day-2 of Book-2 finished with the following key indicators: A total of 208 lots were sold for 9,300,500 guineas, at an average of 44,714 guineas and a median of 35,000 guineas. These represented rises of 7% in turnover, 13% in average and 17% in median when compared with the second day in 2011.
