At Caulfield yesterday, Gr3-winning & multiple Gr1-placed Darley stallion Commands (Danehill-Cotehele House, by My Swanee) added a Gr1 success when 3YO filly Commanding Jewel (Commands-Regard, by Zabeel) scored by 2.8-lengths for trainer Leon Corstens in the $500,000 Gr1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) for 3YO fillies, over fellow fillies Dear Demi (Dehere-Shirley, by Zabeel) & Zydeco (Zabeel-All Time High, by Flying Spur). The half-sister to Champion Australian 3YO Filly and dual-Gr1 winner Atlantic Jewel (by Fastnet Rock), Commanding Jewel (a $205,000 purchase at the 2011 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from Vinery's draft) took her record to 3 wins & 2 placings (including 2nd in the Gr3 Thousand Guineas Prelude & 3rd in the Gr2 Edward Manifold Stakes) from 5 starts.
