Tattersalls October Book-2 Day-3: Median Up 24%
In further signs of a recovering European bloodstock market, Day-3 of the Tattersalls Book-2 Yearling Sale registered a strong 24% increase over last year, with 190 lots trading hands for 7,625,500 guineas. The 33,500 guineas median (versus $27,000 in 2011) was complemented by a 5% rise in the average (40,134 guineas versus 38,265 guineas in 2011). The day's top price belonged to an Exceed And Excel colt out of the Danehill mare Arian Da. He was knocked down for 200,000 guineas to the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
