Villa Verde Wins Listed Debutant Stakes

Thursday, 18th October 2012

Also at Caulfield, multiple stakes-winning Arrowfield Stud stallion Not A Single Doubt (Redoute's Choice-Single's Bar, by Rory's Jester) added a juvenile black-type success when the filly Villa Verde (Not A Single Doubt-Young and Free, by Kenmare) scored by 1.25-lengths for trainer Shaun Dwyer in the $120,000 Listed Inglis Debutant Stakes (1000m) for 2YOs, over the Exceed and Excel-sired duo, filly Overreach (Exceed and Excel-Bahia, by Snippets) & colt Kuroshio (Exceed and Excel-Arctic Drift, by Gone West). Villa Verde was a $95,000 2012 Inglis Premier Sale purchase from the draft of Kiah Glenn (as agent for breeder Suzzanne Lichti) and hails from the dominant speed family of deceased Champion Sire Rory's Jester (Crown Jester-Rory's Rocket, by Roan Rocket). Villa Verde's victory followed immediately after another Not A Single Doubt winner in the day's opening race: Isabella Snowflake (ex Tiamo Baby) won the 1000m sprint by an easy 3-lengths and is now headed towards stakes company.
