Dunaden Wins Gr1 Caulfield Cup

Sheikh Fahad al-Thani of Qatar's French-bred & trained 6YO entire Dunaden (Nicobar-La Marlia, by Kaldounevees) set a new weight-carrying record when sweeping home down the centre of the track to score by 0.5-length for trainer Mikel Delzangles in the $2,500,000 Gr1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) for 4YOs+ at Caulfield, over 8YO gelding Alcopop (Jeune-Iota of Luck, by Blevic) & 5YO mare Lights Of Heaven (Zabeel-I'm in Heaven, by Volksraad). Ridden by Craig Williams who will partner him again in 2012's Melbourne Cup, last year's Gr1 Melbourne Cup & subsequent Gr1 Hong Kong Vase winner Dunaden took his record to 10 wins & 16 placings from 34 starts for $7,054,695 earnings.
