All Systems Go At Mowbray

Tuesday, 23rd October 2012

In Tasmania, night racing is set to commence again at Mowbray this Wednesday night at The TOTE Racing Centre in what will springboard a 21 meeting season through until late April 2013. Again this year, some night meetings (commencing with the one on November 7th) will also be broadcast into France in what Eliot Forbes, Tasracing CEO recognizes as "one of the world's largest wagering markets" and an important "additional funding stream for the industry". A number of the 2013 AAMI Tasmanian Summer Carnival Feature races will also be run under lights in 2013. These include the Magic Millions 2 & 3YO events on February 13th (the night before the Magic Millions Sales in Launceston), as well as the Tasmanian Oaks and Vamos Stakes on February 20th. Forbes commented: "The track is in excellent condition and has benefited from an extended break in preparation for the first night meeting on Wednesday."
