Weight Won't Stop Dunaden Train

Tuesday, 23rd October 2012

Meanwhile, form expert Gary Crispe has weighed into the debate regarding Dunaden's chances of shouldering 59kg to victory in the Gr1 Melbourne Cup suggesting assessors "throw away the record books", reports dailytelegraph.com.au. He noted, "The records books mainly refer to Australasian stayers, not these tough European stayers ... In races at 2000m and beyond, these European horses are superior stayers to ours ... They are used to carrying the big weights and Dunaden should cope with 59kg ... I think he could win the Melbourne Cup if he reproduces his Caulfield Cup win."
