Mental To Lead Squadron To Dubai

Wednesday, 24th October 2012

And in another permutation to arise from Friday night's Gr1 Manikato Stakes, Darley Australia's Henry Plumptre has confirmed that fellow Manikato contender and dual stakes-winner Mental (Lonhro-Intrigues, by Night Shift) is one of "seven horses hand-picked by Sheikh Mohammad's stable to join the "blue army"" for the Dubai World Cup Carnival (and then potentially European campaigns), following completion of spring assignments, reports theage.com.au. Others include Gr1 Epsom Handicap runner-up and Gr2 Theo Marks Handicap winner Ambidexter (Commands-Dextrous, by Quest For Fame), promising Gr2 Champagne Classic winner Free Wheeling (Ad Valoram-Miss Carefree, by Last Tycoon) and regally bred Gr1 VRC Derby runner-up Induna (Elusive Quality-Camarena, by Danehill). Plumptre commented: "They are all old horses who fit the right model to show off our breeding operation over in Europe."
