Mosheen Career In Jeopardy

Wednesday, 24th October 2012

Valuable 4-time Gr1 winning mare Mosheen (Fastnet Rock-Sumehra, by Stravinsky) has been diagnosed with a "tibial stress fracture" and her ongoing racing future in doubt following a lacklustre performance in Saturday's Gr2 Tristarc Stakes, reports racenet.com.au. Trainer Robert Smerdon reported, "She will require three months in the paddock to recover ... With that timeframe it certainly means she can be back in time for the autumn for a race like the [Gr1] Coolmore Classic ... It's entirely up to the owners now however and being part owned in Japan there is the chance she could be retired immediately and sent to Japan to be served to northern hemisphere time."
