Scorching Opening At Fasig-Tipton October Sale
In the US there appears to be no stopping the extreme level of confidence in the sale ring with the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Sale bouncing out of the blocks with an increase of 32.6% in the clearance rate and an astonishing 50.3% in the gross compared to the opening session in 2011, reports bloodhorse.com. Adding further fuel to the fire the average also leapt by 13.3% and the median by 8.3%. Florida horseman Nick de Meric (who purchased the top lot on Day 1) commented: "It felt to me like a pretty buoyant, healthy horse sale." In total, 293 yearlings sold for a US$7,230,200 gross at an average of US$24,676 and median US$13,000.
