Gatewood Wins Gr3 Geelong Cup

Former shuttler & Gr1 English Derby winner Galileo (Sadler's Wells-Urban Sea, by Miswaki) celebrated a black-type success at Geelong yesterday when 5YO horse Gatewood (Galileo-Felicity, by Selkirk) scored by 0.8 lengths for trainer John Gosden in the $295,500 Gr3 Geelong Cup (2400m) over 4YO mare Chateau Margaux (Redoute's Choice-Kylikwong, by Red Ransom) & 6YO horse Brigantin (Cozzene-Banyu Dewi, by Poliglote). This was Gatewood's second black-type success following his win in the Listed Wolferton Handicap and took his record to 5 wins & 3 placings from 10 starts for $369,165 earnings.
