Singleton To Issue Game Plan For Joyous
In what is indicative that the tension between Gai Waterhouse and John Singleton is a little more than simply a "lover's tiff" in the aftermath to Waterhouse controversially opting for barrier 11 for Singleton's champion mare More Joyous in Saturday's Gr1 Cox Plate, Singleton "has demanded he issue the riding instructions to jockey Nash Rawiller", reports dailytelegraph.com.au. Singleton commented, "[Gai and I] have exchanged a couple of text messages, that's about all ... The only agreement we have reached is that my racing manager Duncan Grimley will give Nash the riding instructions." On a lighter note Singleton mused, "Gai usually gets these things right and if More Joyous wins, she will be the genius and I will look like a goose ... But if More Joyous wins the Cox Plate, I'd be happy to look a goose."
