Solemn Wins Listed Geelong Classic

Triple Gr1-winning Darley shuttler & Eclipse Award-winning stallion Bernardini (A.P.Indy-Cara Rafaela, by Quiet American) celebrated a black-type success at Geelong yesterday when 3YO colt Solemn (Bernardini-Mead, by Galileo) scored by 1.3 lengths for trainer Peter Snowden in the $120,000 Listed Geelong Classic (2200m) for 3YO's, over fellow colt Malabar Man (Any Given Saturday-Chauncy Lane, by Sadler's Wells) & 3YO gelding Escado (Casino Prince-Secret Cause, by Giant's Causeway). This was Solemn's first black-type success and took his record to 2 wins & 1 placing in 8 starts for $98,215 earnings.
