Sudden Death of Stirling Grove

The stables of Richard Jolly are reeling after the sudden death of up-and-coming 5YO sprinter and Gr3 SAJC Sires' Produce Stakes winner Stirling Grove (Mossman-Kalamata, by Desert Prince) last weekend, reports racingandsports.com.au. Stirling Grove collapsed after working on Saturday morning and Jolly lamented, "We're all pretty upset ... He worked fine. He was back in his yard and then collapsed and we're not sure exactly [what] went wrong." Stirling Grove recorded 7 wins and 9 placings (including the Gr3 Jansz Stakes, Listed Doveton Stakes, Listed Manihi Stakes, Gr1 Goodwood Handicap, Gr2 Schillaci Stakes (twice) & Listed Wylie Handicap) from 24 starts for earnings of $546,690.
