Lush Lashes Eyes Northern Farm

Tuesday, 30th October 2012

In the UK, trainer Jim Bolger has confirmed three-time Gr1 winning filly Lush Lashes (Galileo-Dance For Fun, by Anabaa) will "continue her breeding career for Katsumi Yoshida at his Northern Farm in Japan", reports racingpost.com. The 7YO mare, currently in foal to Oasis Dream, will be mated with Gr1 Japan Cup winner and young breed-shaping stallion Deep Impact (Sunday Silence-Wind In Her Hair, by Alzao) in 2013. An €80,000 Goffs Yearling, Lush Lashes earned over 8-times her yearling price at her debut run in capturing the €660,000 Goffs Million (sales bonus race). A truly elite filly, she won the Gr1 Yorkshire Oaks, Gr1 Coronation Stakes, Gr1 Matron Stakes and Gr3 Musidora Stakes as well as placing in the Gr1 Prix de l'Opera, Gr1 Nassau Stakes & Gr1 Tattersalls Gold Cup for earnings of £1,298,194. Deal broker Hubie de Burgh commented: "Lush Lashes is an absolute queen to look at and as a triple Group 1-winning daughter of Galileo her appeal is obvious ... She is another big mare for the impressive Northern Farm broodmare band."
