Sortilege Wins Gr1 Premio Lydia Tesio

In Italy overnight, German 3-time Gr1 winner, and former Australian shuttler Tiger Hill (Danehill-The Filly, by Appiani) added a Gr1 triumph when Irish-bred 4YO mare Sortilege (Tiger Hill-Sahel, by Monsun) scored a length victory in the €209,000 Gr1 Premio Lydia Tesio (2000m) for 3YO+ fillies & mares at the Capannelle in Rome. Sortilege (ridden by A. Atzeni for trainer A. Wohler) defeated Irish-bred 3YO filly Cherry Collect (Oratorio-Holy Moon, by Hernando) & GB-bred 4YO mare Nova Hawk (Hawk Wing-Reveuse De Jour, by Sadler's Wells). Sortilege took her record to 4 wins (including the Listed Grand Prix de la Region Alsace) & 3 placings (including the Gr3 La Coupe & Listed Prix Bedel) from 11 starts.
