Goffs November Day-1: Muddling Beginning
Day-1 of the annual Goffs November Sale in Ireland got off to what the sales company described as "a good opening day" although buyers were obviously fairly discerning. Of the 161 foals offered, 83 were purchased for €672,550 at an average €8,103 & €5,500 median. Highest price was €42,000 for a colt by Danehill Dancer sire-son Fast Company, out of the French mare Lady Dettoria whose grand dam Mariella was Champion 3YO Filly in Italy. Consigned by Newtownbarry House Stud, the colt was purchased by Hursley Bloodstock. The Goffs November Foal Sale continues for the next three days, commencing at 11.00am each day. The November Yearling Sale takes place on Thursday evening following the conclusion of the Foal Sale, and this is followed by the two day Breeding Stock Sale on Friday 23 & Saturday 24 November.
