Friday, 1st March 2013

Meanwhile, at Al Rayyan in Doha, former Darley shuttler Elusive Quality (Gone West-Touch Of Greatness, by Hero's Honor) added a Gr2 success when 4YO entire Burren Quality (Elusive Quality-Burren Rose, by Storm Cat) led all the way to take out the Gr2 Qatar International Cup (1600m) for trainer Alban de Mieulle, reports racingpost.com. Burren Quality was bred in Ireland by Moyglare Stud and sold in France to owner Umm Qarn as a yearling for €240,000. Jockey Olivier Peslier had also combined with Burren Quality to score his only other previous win from 12 starts in the Prix Margouillat (2400m) at Maisons-Laffitte in May 2012. Burren Quality took the Qatar International by 1.25-lengths from 8YO gelding Amigo Mio (Crafty Friend-Miss Carlotita, by Masqued Dancer) & fellow 4YO entire Right To Dream (Oasis Dream-Granny Kelly, by Irish River).
