Exhibition Gallop At Warwick Farm For Royal Horse
This Saturday's Warwick Farm meeting will be touched with a Royal flavour with the announcement that 5YO stallion Carlton House (Street Cry-Talented, by Bustino), owned by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, will take part in an exhibition gallop after Race 2. A recent addition to the Gai Waterhouse stable, Carlton House is the first horse owned by the Queen to be imported for a permanent campaign in Australia, with her last sortie being with 1997 Melbourne Cup raider Arabian Story. The import's impressive resume includes UK stakes victories in the Gr2 Dante Stakes at York & Gr3 Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown, while he was also runner-up at Gr1 level to NZ-bred champion So You Think in the Gr1 Prince of Wales's Stakes. Carlton House (to be partnered by jockey Nash Rawiller in the distinctive royal colours of purple with gold braid, scarlet sleeves and black velvet cap with gold fringe) will be joined in his gallop by stablemate Fiorente (James McDonald), runner-up in last year's Gr1 Melbourne Cup. The duo will work over approximately 1000m.
