Initial UK BOBIS Uptake Encouraging

In England, the initial response to the December launch of the British Owners & Breeders' Incentive Scheme (BOBIS) has project manager James Oldring "delighted", reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. So far 1,458 2YOs have been registered for the scheme which "offers cash prizes of £6,000 to eligible horses who win certain races at two this year, and at three from next year." Similarly structured to thoroughbred incentive schemes around the world, only horses "who are by British-based stallions and/or out of British-domiciled mares are eligible for the incentive."
