Criterion Wins Listed Black Opal Stakes

In the second of 4 stakes races at Canberra over the weekend, Australia's Champion 2YO Colt of 2007-2008 and Widden Stud sire Sebring (More Than Ready-Purespeed, by Flying Spur) added his 2nd stakes-success when the colt Criterion (Sebring-Mica's Pride, by Bite the Bullet) scored by 0.4-length for trainer David Payne in the $256,500 Listed Black Opal Stakes (1200m) for 2YOs, over fellow colt Sidestep (Exceed and Excel-Dextrous, by Quest for Fame) & the gelding Meticulously (Not a Single Doubt-Chant, by Filante). Criterion took his record to 2 wins and 1 placing (including the Listed Canonbury Stakes) from 3 starts for $215,250 earnings.
