Mulaazem Retired To Emirates Park Victoria

Monday, 11th March 2013

Recent Caulfield Gr2 Autumn Stakes-winning 3YO colt Mulaazem (Dubai Destination-Watchful, by Danehill) has officially been retired after sustaining an injury at his only start in Sydney. The impeccably bred colt (a half-brother to Darley's Australian Champion 2YO & World Champion 3YO Sprinter Sepoy – now a reverse shuttler) defeated Gr1-winners Fiveandahalfstar & Super Cool in the Autumn Stakes. A 10-lengths Mebourne metropolitan winner as a 2YO, Mulaazem was trained by Peter Moody on behalf of Emirates Park principal His Excellency Nasser Lootah at whose Victorian property he will commence stud duties at later this year for a $7,700 fee. Mulaazem retires with 3 wins & 2 runners-up from 7 starts. Emirates Park chief executive Trevor Lobb commented: "The injury has brought a premature end to his exciting racing career and everyone involved is very disappointed... I know the family very well through Canny Lad, Sepoy and Camarilla. Members of this female line include at least two individual Golden Slipper winners, one Blue Diamond winner and four individual Blue Diamond Prelude winners. I feel he is an outstanding type, had a lot of potential, and is a great new option for Victorian breeders. We will be supporting him with quality mares."
