At Ellerslie, triple Gr1-winning Darley shuttler & US Eclipse Award-winning stallion Bernardini (A.P.Indy-Cara Rafaela, by Quiet American) added a Gr1 success when boom filly Ruud Awakening (Bernardini-Dawn Almighty, by Danehill) scored by 2.25-lengths for trainer Stephen Marsh in the NZ$200,000 Gr1 Diamond Stakes (1200m) for 2YOs, over fellow filly Bounding (Lonhro-Believe'n'succeed, by Exceed And Excel) & the gelding Al Strada (Perfectly Ready-Penny Arcade, by Straussbrook).
