Shoot Out Wins Gr1 Chipping Norton Stakes

Monday, 11th March 2013

At Sydney's Warwick Farm, dual Derby-winning shuttler & 6-time Gr1 victor High Chaparral (Sadler's Wells-Kasora, by Darshaan) added a Gr1 triumph when 6YO gelding Shoot Out (High Chaparral-Pentamerous, by Pentire) scored by a short-head for trainer Chris Waller in the $355,000 Gr1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m), over fellow 6YO gelding Monton (Catbird-Dynamic Flyer, by Marauding) & evergreen 9YO gelding Danleigh (Mujahid-Graceful Lily, by Dr Grace). Winding up in the straight from a long way back, Shoot Out (a $15,000 yearling consigned from Oaklands Stud at the 2008 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale) took his record to 10 wins (also including this race last year, 2010's Gr1 Australian Derby & Gr1 Randwick Guineas) & 10 placings (including 2012's Gr1 Ranvet Stakes & 2010's Gr1 Turnbull Stakes) from 33 starts for A$3,178,950 earnings.
