Super Cool Wins Gr1 Darley Australian Cup

In the 2nd of Melbourne's Gr1 double header at Flemington, Coolmore's multiple Gr1-winning Australian-bred stallion & current Champion Australian sire Fastnet Rock (Danehill-Piccadilly Circus, by Royal Academy) added a Gr1 triumph when 3YO gelding Super Cool (Fastnet Rock-Queen Mother, by Kingmambo) scored by a half-head for trainer Mark Kavanagh in the $1 million Gr1 Australian Cup (2000m), over fellow 3YO gelding Fiveandahalfstar (Hotel Grand-Cryptic Miss, by Snippets) & 6YO gelding Tanby (Galileo-Dane Beltar, by Danewin). In a repeat of their quinella in last month's Gr2 Autumn Classic at Caulfield, Super Cool (a $150,000 yearling consigned by Amarina Farm at the 2011 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale) took his record to 4 wins (also including the Gr2 Mitchelton Wines Vase at Moonee Valley) & 3 placings (including runner-up in the Gr1 Victoria Derby) from 9 starts for $1,205,350 earnings.
