Animal Kingdom's Dubai World Cup Mount Decided

Friday, 15th March 2013

Meanwhile, Arrowfield Stud's latest sire prospect 5YO entire Animal Kingdom (Leroidesanimaux-Dalicia, by Acatenango) will be ridden by Joel Rosario, reports bloodhorse.com. Trainer Graham Motion stated, "I've never been a big believer of taking riders off horses just because they make one mistake. It's not a science. Sometimes it takes an experience like that to get to know a horse better. I think all riders are open to making the odd mistake." Motion's comments were in reference to Rosario's ride in the Gr1 Gulfstream Park Turf when he made an aggressive early inside move along the backstretch to get the lead on the far turn, only to be caught by Point of Entry (Dynaformer-Matlacha Pass, by Seeking the Gold) in the stretch. Animal Kingdom currently has 4 wins (also including 2011's Gr1 Kentucky Derby & Gr3 Turfway Spiral Stakes) & 5 runners-up (including 2013's Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap, 2012's Gr1 Breeders' Cup Mile & 2011's Gr1 Preakness Stakes) from 10 starts for US$2,387,500 earnings.
