At Trentham in Wellington, progressive 3YO gelding Serpent (Chinese Dragon-Twizzle, by Arazi) made it a hat-trick of wins when scoring by 2.5-lengths for trainer Murray Baker in the NZ$48,000 Listed New Zealand St Leger (2500m), over 4YO gelding Juggernaut Rock (Stratum-Frenetic, by Truly Vain) & 4YO mare Star Of Tralee (Zabeel-Rose Of Tralee, by Sadler's Wells). Earning his initial stakes-win, Serpent (a NZ$25,000 yearling at the 2011 NZ Bloodstock National Sale at Karaka) took his record to 3 wins & a runner-up from 6 starts for NZ$46,075 earnings.
