Unibet Offers $1 Million Carrot For All Aged Clash
With the Gr1 All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick on April 27 looming as a potential meeting point for champion mares Black Caviar and More Joyous, leading wagering operator Unibet has stepped up with a $1 million incentive to facilitate the clash, reports news.com.au. Unibet executive director Mark Morrissey commented: "We would love to see Black Caviar take on More Joyous and all the other good horses that are likely to run in the All Aged… This is the clash every race fan wants to see and Unibet will put up $1 million to help make it happen… Hopefully the Australian Turf Club will match our offer and bring the stakes to $2.4 million - but the $1 million from Unibet is there regardless… The only proviso is that Black Caviar and More Joyous contest the All Aged Stakes and for Unibet to be given the naming rights for the race." This comment is predicated on the fact that the All Aged currently doesn't have a sponsor and has "allocated prizemoney" of $400,000, which some feel is inconsistent with the potential calibre of participants in the WFA race.
