Monday, 25th March 2013

At Sha Tin in Singapore, retired Arrowfield Stud stallion & former Australian Champion Sire Flying Spur (Danehill-Rolls, by Mr Prospector) added a group success when Australian-bred 6YO gelding Flying Fulton (Flying Spur-Fulton, by Zabeel) scored a 0.75-length victory for trainer Mark Walker in the S$150,000 Gr3 Marsiling Classic Stakes (1800m), over fellow 6YO gelding Lizarre (Jet Master-Leading Dame, by Jallad) & 5YO gelding Ready To Strike (Colombia-Bankers Tonic, by British Banker). Flying Fulton (passed-in as a yearling for NZ$90,000 at the 2008 NZB Premier Sale & subsequently sold as a 2YO for NZ$210,000 at the NZB Ready-To-Run Sale) took his record to 13 wins (also including 2012's Gr3 Colonial Chief Stakes, Gr3 Polytrack Mile Championship & Gr3 New Year Cup, plus 2011's Gr3 Committee's Prize) & 12 placings (including the Gr1 Patron's Bowl) from 55 starts.
