Teofilo Sires First Australian Winner

Monday, 25th March 2013

Yesterday at Hobart, unbeaten European Champion juvenile & dual Gr1-winning Darley shuttler Teofilo (Galileo-Speirbhean, by Danehill) sired his first Australian-bred winner when 2YO filly Gee Gees Prairie scored over 1100m by just under a length for trainer John Luttrell. Out of the Bertolini mare La Prairie, Gee Gees Prairie was a $24,000 weanling at the 2011 Inglis Sydney Weanling & Broodmare Sale & subsequently a $45,000 yearling at the 2012 Inglis Premier Sale in Melbourne. In Europe Teofilo is the sire of Gr1 winners Loch Garman & Parish Hall, plus the Gr1-placed duo Light Heavy & Roz.
