Colgan Heads To Adelaide Plum Position

Tuesday, 26th March 2013

Leading NZ jockey Vinnie Colgan has accepted the number one riding position with trainer Tony McEvoy and will be based in Adelaide indefinitely. The five-time New Zealand Derby-winning jockey, whose resumé  also includes 928 New Zealand career winners (88 at Group or Listed level), commented on the new role: "I'm really looking forward to the move, and fly out on March 29." The 37-year-old hoop however will retain the ride on 2012 NZ Derby winner Habibi (Ekraar-Danny Holiday, by Danasinga) for her upcoming Sydney assignments in both the Gr1 Vinery Stakes and the Gr1 Australian Oaks.
