Excelebration To Shuttle To Coolmore

Tuesday, 26th March 2013

Darley sire Exceed And Excel's champion son Excelebration (Exceed And Excel-Sun Shower, by Indian Ridge) will join the roster at Coolmore Australia for 2013. Among the 3-year-olds of 2011, only the world's highest rated horse Frankel was rated superior to him by Timeform, a rating repeated when, as a 4YO, Excelebration rated 2nd only to Frankel as a miler. Rated 133 by Timeform at 3 and 4, Excelebration's three Gr1 runner-ups to Frankel were augmented with Gr1 victories in Longchamp's Prix du Moulin de Longchamp (1600m), Deauville's Prix Jacques Le Marois (1600m) & Ascot's Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (1 mile). He retired with 8 wins & 5 placings from 15 starts for £1,672,705 earnings. "Excelebration is a very good-looking multiple Gr1-winning miler from the Danehill line so we are delighted that he will be coming down to us. I've seen him in the flesh myself and he's a very good looking horse; big and strong with great quality and a lovely head. All the best breeders in Europe have supported him and I have no doubt that he will prove equally popular here in Australia," said Coolmore manager Michael Kirwan. A stud fee will be announced at a later date.
