Kids Come First For Gulfstream Chief
Gulfstream Park Racing Secretary Dan Bork is leaving to be closer to his children, reports bloodhorse.com. Gulfstream Park will commence racing every weekend from July 1 and Bork said, "This decision was purely my own and based on the fact that being racing secretary year-round at Gulfstream would not allow me to spend the kind of time I want to with my two children. It was a difficult decision, but, obviously, my children and spending time with them will always come first. I am forever in debt to Mr. Frank Stronach, Mike Rogers, Tim Ritvo and our staff for their help and encouragement. It's been a wonderful experience working with all of them. And I want to thank the horsemen for all their support and the help they've provided me and Gulfstream over these past four years." Gulfstream president, and The Stronach Group's chief operating officer Tim Ritvo, said, "I can't overemphasize how sad we are that Dan will be leaving Gulfstream. He has helped Gulfstream grow every year he's been racing secretary and his reputation is impeccable with horsemen throughout the world. But we understand that family comes first. If an opportunity presents itself to have Dan return to Gulfstream and The Stronach Group, we would not hesitate to welcome him back." Ritvo announced that Jeffrey Noe, assistant racing secretary at Calder Casino & Race Course, will replace Bork.
