Latest Golden Slipper Betting

Wednesday, 27th March 2013

Following Saturday's feature Rosehill race meeting at which the Gai Waterhouse-trained reigning Gr1 Golden Slipper Stakes favourite Overreach (Exceed and Excel-Bahia, by Snippets) exclamation-marked herself with a dominant display in the Gr2 Moet & Chandon Stakes, leading online bookmaker Tom Waterhouse has her at the prohibitive odds of $2.10 to take Australia's feature 2YO event on April 6. Meanwhile, it's a chasm to second favourite Villa Verde (runner-up to Overreach in the Moet & Chandon) at $11, with Gr2 Todman Stakes victor Criterion (trained by David Payne) at $12. A further two Gai Waterhouse-trained runners in Sweet Idea and Whittington share a $15 quote with David Hayes' Fastnet Rock colt Fast 'n' Rocking, who was runner-up in the Todman.
