Goffs Kempton 2YO Breeze-Up: Median Up 11%

Thursday, 28th March 2013

The annual Goffs Kempton 2YO Breeze Up Sale has concluded with a 20 percent increase in the median price over last year. Of the 84 lots offered, 61 horses found new homes at an average price of £23,854 (up 2 percent) and  £20,000 median (up 11 percent). The top-priced lot was a colt by Intense Focus which fetched a £70,000 bid from Stephen Hillen. Goffs CEO Henry Beeby commented: "We welcomed a huge crowd of buyers to Kempton today dominated by British trainers. The average and median have both advanced with the latter jumping by 11 per cent which points to a strong sale although it was certainly more selective than last year as evidenced by the 73 per cent clearance rate. The sale aggregate fell by 18 percent.
