Havana Gold Wins France Gr1 Prix Jean Prat

At Chantilly in France, unbeaten European Champion juvenile & dual Gr1-winning Darley shuttler Teofilo (Galileo-Speirbhean, by Danehill) celebrated his second Gr1 success over the weekend when the colt Havana Gold (Teofilo-Jessica's Dream, by Desert Style) scored by a short-neck for trainer Richard Hannon in the €400,000 Gr1 Prix Jean Prat (1600m) for 3YO colts & fillies, over fellow colts Marino Grey (Clodovil-Montagne Magique, by King's Best) & Mondialiste (Galileo-Occupandiste, by Kaldoun). A 80,000 guineas yearling at the 2011 Tattersalls October Book 1 Sale, Havana Gold took his record to 5 wins (also including the Gr3 Somerville Tattersall Stakes at Newmarket and Listed Ascendant Stakes at Haydock) & 2 runners-up (including the Gr3 Craven Stakes at & tattersalls Millions 2YO Trophy at Newmarket) from 10 starts for £389,642 earnings.
