Trading Leather Wins Ireland Gr1 Irish Derby

At Ireland's The Curragh, unbeaten European Champion juvenile & dual Gr1-winning Darley shuttler Teofilo (Galileo-Speirbhean, by Danehill) added a Gr1 success when the colt Trading Leather (Teofilo–Night Visit, by Sinndar) scored a 1.75-lengths victory for trainer Jim Bolger in the €1.25 million Gr1 Irish Derby (12 furlongs) for 3YO colts & fillies, over fellow colts Galileo Rock (Galileo-Grecian Bride, by Groom Dancer) & Festive Cheer (Montjeu-Bold Classic, by Pembroke). Bred by Jim Bolger (whose story you can read in the just published edition of Breeding&Racing Magazine by clicking on his name in this item), Trading Leather took his record to 4 wins (also including last start's Listed Silver Stakes at The Curragh & 2012's Gr3 Autumn Stakes at Newmarket) & 3 placings (including the Gr1 Irish 2000 Guineas & Gr2 Dante Stakes at York) from 8 starts for £737,007 earnings.
