Shamexpress To Work On July Course Today
Australian-trained, New Zealand-bred Shamexpress "will work on the July course" in England later today, advises the UK's Newmarket Racecourses. Due to arrive at 6.55am, he will walk around the parade ring before working on the track at approximately 7am. The Danny O'Brien-trained four-year-old finished 4.5-lengths behind the winner, Sole Power, when ninth in the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot two weeks ago. The six-furlong Darley July Cup, worth £500,000, is run over the same distance as the Gr1 Lexus Newmarket Handicap at Flemington in Melbourne in the spring which Shamexpress won by a short-head. He meets all three place-getters from the King's Stand Stakes in the July Cup.
