Blue-Blooded Juvenile Duo Clashes On Debut

Wednesday, 3rd July 2013

Meanwhile, a brace of well-bred juvenile fillies will clash on debut today at Warwick Farm. Martilago (Encosta de Lago-Martique, by Danehill), trained by Ron Quinton, & Cast In Stone (Redoute's Choice-Rosetta Stone, by Sadler's Wells), trained by Bart Cummings, will both make their racetrack debuts in a 2YO maiden (1100m). While the race has drawn a field of 12 colts and geldings, it is the two blue-blooded fillies that will attract most attention. Martilago, from the family of Gr1-winning mare Champagne, was a NZ$325,000 2012 NZB yearling purchase consigned by Belvedere Farm, whilst Cast In Stone, from the family of European group winners Brian Boru, Sea Moon & Moon Search, was a $240,000 2012 Inglis Easter Yearling purchase from the consignment of Kia-Ora Stud.
