Multiple Gr1-winning US sprinter Smiling Tiger (Hold That Tiger-Shandra Smiles, by Cahill Road) has been retired to stud, reports drf.com. The 6YO entire will stand at Premier Equine Centre in Oakdale, California for a service fee of US$5,000. The Kentucky-bred Smiling Tiger was one of the best sprinters in the US winning 7 graded races including 3 Gr1 titles, namely the Gr1 Bing Crosby Stakes (1200m) at Del Mar, defeating former Australian galloper Scenic Blast, the Gr1 Ancient Title Stakes (1200m) at Oak Tree & the Gr1 Triple Bend Handicap (1200m) at Hollywood Park. He retired with 9 wins and 10 placings (including a 3rd in the Gr1 Breeders' Cup Sprint at his penultimate start) from 23 starts for US$1,480,704 earnings.
