Shoot Out Relation To Debut At Caulfield

Wednesday, 3rd July 2013

A valuable NZ-bred 2YO colt Best Shot (High Chaparral-Avant Jazz, by Pentire) will make his debut at Caulfield today in the BMW Handicap (1200m). A close relation to five-time Gr1-winner Shoot Out, Best Shot's dam, Avant Jazz, is a sister to Pentamerous, the dam of Shoot Out, rendering them three-quarter relations. Shoot Out was initially trained by Bruce Wallace in Queensland before being transferred to the Sydney stables of Chris Waller who has also been entrusted with Best Shot's education. Shoot Out hitherto enjoyed a marvellous career highlighted by Gr1 wins in the Randwick Guineas, Australian Derby, George Main Stakes & Chipping Norton Stakes (twice). Best Shot was a 2012 NZ$300,000 NZB Premier Yearling Sale purchase by Waller's bloodstock agent Guy Mulcaster from the consignment of Lime Country Thoroughbreds.
