Thursday, 4th July 2013

The first leg of the Canadian Triple Crown for 3YOs, the C$1 million Gr1 Queens Plate over 2000m, will be contested by 11 3YOs, reports drf.com.  All 11 nominated horses worked on Tuesday at Ontario, and the draw will take place at the annual Queen's Plate breakfast later today. Woodbine's racing secretary and director of racing, Steve Lym, will preside over the draw, while 8-time winning trainer Roger Attfield will assist. Attfield has no runner this year. Four other stakes races are scheduled for the card, including the Gr2 Highlander, Gr2 Dance Smartly, Gr3 Singspiel and Listed Clarendon Stakes.
