Double Whammy For Luckless Trainer
In a dose of double bad luck, US trainer Kathy Jarvis has been fined US$1,000 for "failure to promptly report to the Mountaineer stewards the change in condition of her horse" after 5YO mare Slippin' Around (Storm Boot-Dontclosemiaccount, by Mi Cielo) died the same day she was due to race in a $5,000 claiming race, reports bloodhorse.com. Slippin' Around was consequently a late scratching by the Stewards, with the West Virginia Racing Commission investigation resulting in the fine. The penalty is similar to those given for minor drug violations.
